Ad inspired exhibition at Atria Watford 2024
Melody’s work is part of an inspiring new exhibition taking place in the biggest shopping centre in Hertfordshire this Spring/Summer.
Melody was born in Guildford in 1984 and spent her formative years between the Surrey town and West London, before settling in Watford. With a formal digital art training gained at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, Melody has proved her creative dexterity in work across graphic design and radio, as well as fine art which she has exhibited across London and the South.
Melody believes that truly successful art evokes strong feelings or emotions, and her work often explores themes of contrast, commercialism and controversy.
Now a professional writer, visual arts continue to hold a special place in her heart, and she has been fortunate to get the chance to combine these two loves in roles in the advertising and marketing industry, winning various accolades for her scriptwriting.
What better an exhibition for her to take part in then, than Amanartis Gallery’s ‘Creating the ads we need to see’, a group show dedicated to exploring the power of art and advertising for good.

Now IS a good time
One of a series of three focused on the same simple but powerful statement, this piece contrasts the outdated aesthetic of 60's wallpaper against a refreshingly new message to land a powerful call to action. By emphasising the 'is', Melody prescribes a distinct reading of the headline which compels the viewer to follow their gut with confidence in all they do.
What do you want to grow
Using a road, a place of transition where the in-between moments of life occur, and a billboard, a worldwide symbol of commercialism, Melody challenges the viewer to reflect on what's really important in life, and take stock of where they are investing their energies as each second ticks by.
